This is the step of many names. Paradiddle (which is actually a term from drumming which means to do four taps in the pattern of right left right right or left right left left), paddle and roll, dig brush toe heel, dig spank step heel, and on and on.
Tip: Don’t rush the spank but do keep the spank loud. Lift the foot a tiny bit after the spank so the step isn’t early and make the heel at the end strong.
