We know that many of you aspiring tappers out there want to dance to more traditional tap music. Sadly securing multiple licenses to use popular copyrighted music in a video is just too expensive. Sure people violate copyright rules all the time (check out youtube) but we try to play by the rules (after all we’re content creators too!).
So for this routine we created choreography that works great as an acapella, HOWEVER it has also been specifically designed to work perfectly to “In the Mood” by the Andrews Sisters (It’s song #12 here). There are no edits required for this song!
Unfortunately we can’t include the music, or even a video of the routine being performed with the music. Nevertheless we’re very excited to be able to offer this exciting option for tappers who want to tap to more traditional tap music.

What’s on the video?A complete beginner tap routine (2 min 49 seconds as an acapella, 2 min 49 seconds with music) broken down and demonstrated in detail. The choreography is split into several easy to learn sections. After you learn each section you’ll run through everything you know up to that point. For instance after you learn section 3 you’ll run the dance from the beginning through section 3. This helps you remember all the steps and connect all the sections together. The entire video is 1 hour and 27 minutes long and once you’re finished you’ll know the entire routine!
Is learning the choreography hard? Learning it - No. Executing it - Maybe. The choreography is explained and demonstrated remarkably well so that anyone can pick it up. You’re not just shown a step one time and expected to instantly remember it. We take time to go over the steps more than once and to connect all the sections together.
Is there music? Not exactly. This routine can be done as an acapella (meaning without music/instrumentation) or to the song “In the Mood” by the Andrews Sisters (It’s song #12 here). However the music is not included nor is a video of the routine being performed to music.
Can I perform it to music if I want to? Sure especially since it’s designed to work perfectly with “In the Mood” by the Andrews Sisters (It’s song #12 here).
