Adv-Beginner Tap Lessons - $87 Value
3 Tap Guides (PDF Only) - $10 Value
In these lessons I'll teach you 36 steps and 14 fun combinations (short dances). I'll guide you through the most common problems adv-beginners face and how to fix them so you feel confident in what you're doing.
Each lesson starts with a warm-up to get you moving and to build your strength and stamina.
Then I teach you some important adv-beginner tap steps. I break down each step thoroughly and we do several repetitions so you can get confident in what you're doing.
Next we'll run those steps with some music so you build your musicality and rhythm skills. Plus, it's more fun with music!
After we've covered several steps, I'll combine them into a fun combination. This does several things:
1. Works your mind and improves your memory.
2. Helps you be able to transition from one step to another.
3. Allows you to "dance" and not just do steps.
We'll follow that class pattern for the first 10 lessons. For the last 2, we'll change it with some ear training, dynamics and call and response.
Here’s a list of the steps & concepts we cover:

I want to give you a more in-depth and personal view on what this lesson package is like.
First and foremost expect to have fun! I’m an upbeat tap dance teacher and that comes through in the videos.
One thing I feel really good about it is how motivated people tell me they feel when doing my lessons. A student once told me they played my lessons in the background while studying because the videos were so motivating!
Another thing you can expect is an improvement in your mood and well being. I’ve literally had a few customers tell me my lessons helped them get out of a depression!
When you hear something like that, it gives deep meaning to what you’re doing. I certainly can’t make any guarantees, but I’d be willing to bet that after you do each lesson you’ll feel better than before you started.
If you did our beginner lesson series (highly recommended) this will continue on perfectly from where those lessons left off. If you haven’t done those lessons, make sure you’re up to speed on all the steps we learned in the beginner series.
Just as in the beginner series, I break each new step down slowly and clearly and go over it many times so you can really master the step and get comfortable with it. This way you never feel rushed or behind.
When I teach combinations (short dances), I teach them slowly and I review the footwork many times and we dance them many times with the music - not just once! Once is NEVER enough.
I do have one word of caution for you though - don’t tap on concrete or on tile laid over top of concrete. Just the other day, a lady emailed me that her back or knees were hurting (I forget which) and asking if should she get a tap board instead of tapping in the garage.
YES! Don’t tap on the garage floor - it’s so bad for your body.
A lot of the customers I talk to do each lesson in our advanced-beginner package multiple times before moving on to the next. They tell me this really helps them cement the steps in their mind and body, and better prepares them for the next lesson.
Also, these lessons build cumulatively. The steps you learn in the first lesson will show up in the second lesson and so on. So mastering each lesson makes you more prepared for the ones to come.
Now of course some of my customers are more free spirits, just doing it for the fun of it and not serious about getting the technique down and that works great too. You really have the option to approach it the way that works best for you.
Having said that, I do go into detail as far as how to do the steps technically correct. You will have all the info you need on that front - and if you ever have a question that the videos don’t answer you can always email or call me.
Some students even video themselves doing a step they’re having trouble with so I can analyze it and give them feedback. One lady got her pullbacks that way (don’t worry if you don’t know what those are - you will learn them in the lessons)!
So, at the end of the day I think you’re going to have a great time with these lessons.
If you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to me any time. Enjoy those lessons!
